Adorable shepherd’s lodge that was fully renovated in 2017; positioned at the top of the La Pena hillside (on the same plot as the well known Wallpaper and Boston Beach Houses) the house enjoys incredible 360º views of the Los Lances beach below and the protected cork forest and mountains above. Ideal for a couple or family of up to five people.
The house itself is 70m2; there is an open-plan sitting room, dining room, kitchen, double bedroom, bunk room and bathroom. The kitchen is well-equipped with a four-hob gas stove, oven and large fridge freezer, there is also a gas Weber BBQ for outside grilling.
The sitting room has a large sofa and chaise longue, wild olive dining table with benches that enjoy sea views (there is seating for eight). The double bed is 150x200cm with a clothes rail and shelving for clothes. The children’s bedroom is through a charming hobbit-style door (please be warned very tall Northern Europeans), where there are three customised, staggered, adult-sized bunks. The bunk room has large drawers under the beds and hooks for hanging clothes. The bathroom is next to the children’s room with sink, WC and walk-in shower.
On the stone terrace there is a shaded seating area, outdoor eating for six, bbq area and a shower for when you come off the beach or to cool down after a spot of sunbathing.
The views from inside and outside the property are staggering; at night the property looks like an alpine lodge, with its contemporary finish, elegant wooden-beamed roofs and stylish black- framed glass.
This property is very much for the nature-lover; the neighbour Rafael has his gentle donkey grazing on the plot out of season and often a stray pig looking up at the kitchen window. It is very much for the nature lover and guests who are looking to enjoy walks from the property, on the many forestry tracks and the somewhat infamous Buddha Trail which is not far away. The proximity of the house from the beach, 750m, and town, 6km, is what makes La Pena such a popular location, a very special choice for a family or couple wanting to get away from it all and reconnect with nature.
Please note there are no curtains in the house. The children’s bedroom is dark.
There is a chlorinated dipping pool for guests exclusive use next to the house.
Positioned on the same plot as the “The Wallpaper House” and “The Boston Beach House” – a good option for various families or groups of friends.

Minimum stay is five nights in low season and one week for the rest of the year
End cleaning is not included in the cost, it is 100€ for all bookings. However, in all cases you are responsible for keeping the property and all its contents in the same state of cleanliness, repair and condition as at the commencement of the holiday. The owner reserves the right to make deductions from the security deposit for any extra cleaning, over the number of hours committed to departure cleaning.
We recommend a tough car for Tarifa, something a little higher off the ground like a van. It is possible to drive your car to the property, but it is off road.

“We spent a wonderful week for two at Little Stone House in May. The house has for its size a successful and spacious layout and a tasteful decor. It feels like being in a comfortable mountain hut with sea views and nearness. The cows graze in front of the kitchen window, the eagles circle above the mountain and in the distance one can observe the artistic kiters. A hiking trail starts right at the house, the beautiful beaches are only a few minutes by car. The wind is impressive, but even if the Levante blows hard, you can find a sheltered place at the house. The house can not be darkened - so it is in the description - you can see it on clear nights to the glittering shore to Africa. We really enjoyed the time. 1000 thanks for sharing, dear Cat and Ben.”
