This unique, rural hideaway is positioned at the top of Saladaviciosa, a tiny hamlet opposite the Sierra of San Bartolome (Betis) and the climb to Bolonia and close to the small “pueblo blanco” Facinas. Its position in the mountains means it enjoys some impressive views looking out over some of Tarifa’s most dramatic countryside. It is very much for the nature lover; the owners live on the same property with their two cats and dogs and they also keep chickens and grow their own vegetables. It is quite normal to be stuck behind cows, goats and donkeys on your way up to the property as they graze freely on the mountainside.

This is domesticated wilderness in a holistic and harmonious enclave of Tarifa.

The property itself is a collection of buildings, which is how people in Andalusia have always lived. The property has been thoughtfully designed and stylishly decorated. The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, six hob stove, dishwasher and large fridge and freezer. Whilst the living area of kitchen, sitting room and eating area is open-plan, the sitting room can also be closed off with hidden sliding doors and used as a second bedroom when there are more than two guests. There is a pellet stove for the winter, which makes this a cosy spot and the wrap-around terrace equips it beautifully for the summer months.

The master bedroom is in a separate building, what the owners call the “magic tower” with its stunning intricate circular roof. Downstairs is the only bathroom – rustic but charming – with a shower, WC, large clay sink and a washing machine. Between these two sections there is room for four guests.

There is a circular wooden yoga studio on the property, where you can take private yoga lessons from the owner, who has twenty years of experience and is extremely professional and an excellent teacher.

The garden is not manicured, but natural with indigenous plants and there is a delightful stone pond with healthy looking Koi fish and lotus plants.   

This is a small slice of heaven for those looking for somewhere to recharge and reconnect in nature, at only 15 minutes from Tarifa town and 10 minutes from the Tarifa and Bolonia beaches in the car.
